Where to buy boat name stickers?

When buying stickers for your boat, you need to consider more than just whether they’ll stick for a long time. For a boat, the stickers must be waterproof, resistant to salty water, and UV-resistant.

Brands like 3M and similar ones can handle the job.
Most of these types of stickers come with a warranty.

It’s been weeks since we started prepping, and we’re leaving the berth for good in just over two weeks. That doesn’t leave us much time to order boat name stickers and have them delivered to the harbormaster. I was in a bit of a rush and ended up doing this late at night—honestly, the worst time to make decisions.

I didn’t browse many websites, maybe three at most.

C-stickers

Luckily, I stumbled across the c-stickers.fr website, and the offer was straightforward.
They specialize in stickers for stores but also for boats, so they’re weather-resistant.

The stickers are made by Oracal, 3M, or Mactac and come with a 5-year guarantee.

Their customization interface is super easy and clear:

- You type in the name.

- Choose the font (there are tons of options).

- Pick the font size.

- You can instantly see the size and length of your lettering.

The price is cheap compared to the one other website I checked.
You can see the sticker’s cost update as you adjust the font size.
I paid less than 5 euros for an 11 x 26 cm sticker.

Plus, I got 15% off with the code

However

I was absolutely not happy with the result.
I don't think I have something particularly made for boats, as the letters where not cutout.

When I found out, I had to cut them out myself one by one...

And then stick them one by one as opposed to a full sheet of precut stickers.

It's cheap, but now you know why. So AVOID!

Extra sticker

I had an extra sticker made on their website.
I will stick this sticker to the rear of the boat, should people want to follow us on Instagram!

I used Hovercode to make this QR code. You can customize the color and shapes of the QR code.

Boat name regulations in France

They also explain the rules for boat names, which is handy for recreational boats like ours sailing at sea:

 Hull lettering:

The letters or numbers must be at least 4 centimeters tall.

 Location of the name:

The registration must be visible at the rear or on each side of the boat’s bow.

I ordered one sticker for the rear of the boat and one for the dinghy.
I’m not sure if it’ll stick to the dinghy, but I’ll give it a shot.
