August 2025: Budget report

August 2025 overview

We were really traveling this month, as we arrived the Italian coastline.
Which means less time spent on repairing (Although there are still repairs to be done),
so it means less heavy spending overall.
But you are wrong! It's the summer holidays, so our son was with us for a month or so.
Which means we spent for 3 people and had a mini holiday in Rome.

Total spending reached €2965 for the month. (By the way error on last month, we spent 2938 and not 2891)

August 2025 details

This month's highlights:

- The trip in Rome was the most expensive, with the transport, hotels, food but also all the cultural sightseeing that are pretty expensive.
-Mainly food! In these Eolian islands, gazoline is expensive and food is also not the cheapest.

August 2025 vs Budget

With seven months into our sabbatical, we’ve spent a bit more than 84% of our total budget, leaving €16817 for the remaining five- six months.

Normally September should be lower in spending. But we never now, we might plan some inland trips so it might add on extra spendings.

 Conclusion:
We put on pause the repairs on the boat, but there are a lot to come as we manage to break the electrical toilets. And the autopilot also need an extra spare part. Not to mention we lost one more fender, making it a total of 3 lost fenders so far.

Food spending jumped from 6% to 8% to now 9% of the budget since we stopped spending on repairs.
Our son staying over and the price of food in islands being higher didnt help.
But overall budget is still in good track. I think September will be key to have a real overview of a "normal" spending month.
